childhood cancer SUPPORT for those living in North Carolina

CAMP CAREFREE

Camp Carefree in Stokesdale, North Carolina, is committed to enriching the lives of children impacted by cancer and other chronic illnesses. This includes children who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness, their siblings, and the children of chronically ill parents.

They provide eligible children aged 6 to 16 years with a one-week specialised camping experience at no cost to the family, allowing them to participate in activities that bring joy and excitement, making new and happy memories.

CAROLINA FOR THE KIDS

The Carolina for the Kids Foundation believes that when a child is hospitalised, parents should be able to focus on getting their child well, rather than worrying about getting to and from the hospital, or how their bills at home are being paid in their absence. They are committed to providing emotional, medical and financial support for the patients and families served by UNC Children’s Hospital, and through their “For the Kids Fund”, they support families with financial assistance for needs that are not covered by their medical insurance.

They partner with a dedicated team of nurses, social workers, care management, and administrative staff at UNC Children’s Hospital to distribute this fund to families who need it. Support is provided in the form of meal tickets, gas cards, critical bill payments, at-home medical equipment, and much more.
