CHILDHOOD CANCER SUPPORT for those living in the ACT

CANCER COUNCIL ACT

Cancer Council ACT is a not-for-profit organisation, supporting people of all ages who have been diagnosed with cancer.

They can connect you with professionals who are able to assist with legal issues, financial planning, small business accounting and workplace matters through their Pro Bono Program; and they run finance education sessions, to help you manage the cost of cancer.

LITTLE WINGS

Little Wings is a non-profit organisation that provides air and ground transportation for seriously ill children in regions across NSW, ACT and QLD, to ensure they are able to receive the very best care at children’s hospitals in NSW.

Families are referred to Little Wings by the hospital, who take into consideration the child’s medical condition, location and frequency of travel.

STELLA BELLA LITTLE STARS FOUNDATION

The Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation was launched in 2012 to brighten the lives of children in the ACT region who are living with serious and long-term illnesses.

The Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation is able to provide financial support to families who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of having a critically ill child. They also run an all-inclusive childcare facility which in addition to having mainstream childcare rooms, offers specialised respite and occasional care for sick babies and children who are not infectious.

You will also find them stocking the fridge at the Neonatal ICU at Canberra Hospital, running free yoga sessions for Mums and hosting an annual family camp which gives families the chance to share experiences, build friendships and make happy memories together in a safe and understanding environment.

The Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation actively supports families whose child is in palliative care and can provide financial grants and memorial jewellery in the event of bereavement.
